Rojc scored one of the highest entrance exam scores in the history of Starfleet Academy. Due to his special abilities and already advanced tactical training, Rojc was recommended and entered into advanced Academy coursework. After a year at the Academy, assigned to the USS Morning Star, as part of a Field-training program. The Morning Star was a part of the Federation task force that engaged the Hugh-Collective Borg at Onikha III in late 2369. The vessel was nearly destroyed in the ensuing conflict, and only escaped due to Rojc's tactics. The Morning Star was declared scrapped. After spending another year at Starfleet Academy, Rojc was officially graduated, technically not apart of any class.
He was quickly assigned to the USS Savannah. During much of this assignment, Rojc was in fact on missions as a Starfleet Intelligence Operative--his actual time on the Savannah was signifcantly less than officially recorded. After a year and a half, the Starfleet Intelligence Corps tapped Rojc to serve as Assistant Tactical Officer 1 on board the experimental USS Nassau. Rojc accepted the assignment. While in deep space, testing systems, the Nassau was attacked and crippled by vessels operating under the Orion Syndicate. In the ensuing conflict, Rojc and 39 other crew members were captured and later sold to the Romulan Government. A new treaty with the Romulans in 2372 brought Rojc (the only surviving officer) back to the Federation.
After nearly three months of therapy and medical treatment, Rojc was assigned to the new Enterprise-E as the Chief of Security and Tactical Operations. Finding the position to be too stressful, Rojc transferred to the Intrepid-class USS Malibu as Chief of Security and Tactical Operations. During this assignment, Rogue Ferengi attacked the ship and took control of the vessel. Rojc, two security guards, an ensign from Stellar Cartography, and a nurse re-took the ship with only one casualty. Rojc received a commendation and promotion to Lieutenant Commander.
Roughly a year before the Dominion War broke out, Rojc was transferred to the Galaxy-class USS Excelsior. The Excelsior was later a part of the ill-fated 7th Fleet, and was one of 14 surviving starships. The Excelsior took heavy damage, but the ship was refit and back in service within a month. Rojc has earned numerous commendations since serving on the Excelsior.
In late 2376, Starfleet Intelligence assigned Rojc to serve as both temporary Commanding Officer and Chief Security Officer of the new, highly-classified USS Phantom. He relinquished command when Captain Whitman came aboard, but retained Security and Tactical duties.
